| Best friends Ashley
Ross and Ling Lee are excited about starting their freshman year
at High School. They both agree its going to be a new start, a
year full of opportunities and surprises. Meanwhile new girl in
town Maria Harris tries to fit in with the kids at school. |
| When her
favorite skater star Cade Davis comes to town to judge the 'Under Sixteen's Skater's Comp', Ashley is determined to practice as much as possible. But
whilst doing a move she's not quite ready for, she injures herself, leaving her unable to compete. |
| The 9th Grade "hunk" Dylan Matthews asks Maria
on a date to the Movies. Ashley's Mom asks her how she would feel about having Rick move in with them and becoming her Stepfather. And Mr DeCole
chooses Ling to help Abby study for the next Biology test. |
| Year Book picture day is approaching
at school. The girls head to the mall to pick out new outfits. Rick moves
in with Ashley and her mom. Meanwhile, Ling is asked if she'd like to write an article for the
school paper. And
Maria goes on her second date with Dylan. |
| It's Halloween! The Plan, come the night is to head out Trick-Or-Treating with some class mates, then end up at the Halloween Dance at school, it should be fun! But when a classmate is dared to climb down the cliffs at the beach, their fun night goes wrong... |
| Ling is devastated
when her Grampa dies. Ashley and Maria do their best to comfort
their friend. Ling's world is further rocked when her Parents
announce her Grampa left them his Restaurant and that they're
considering moving back to Hong Kong to run it. |
| Ling's Dad decides they will be moving back to Hong Kong, as it's the best move for the Family. Ashley's Mom sets the date for her
and Rick's wedding. And Maria finds herself grounded after her Dad gets a call from Principal Taylor explaining Maria's behavior of late. |

ONE WEEK HIATUS

| Thanksgiving weekend. Ashley's
mom is going out of town, so she stays with Ling and her family. Meanwhile a letter
from her mom, who's not contacted her in years, upsets
Maria leading her to shut out her friends, and a confrontation between her
and Ashley. |
| For Ling's 15th
Birthday her mom cooks her a special dinner and invites Ashley and Maria. At
school Maria, still not dealing with her mom's letter, gets into trouble in class,
is told to leave and given a detention. But then lands herself in
more trouble by refusing to go. |
| In
Teen Health Class the girls are set a task
of parenting a bag of flour.
Parent/Teacher Night approaches at
Chestaville High. And Ashley becomes
suspicious when she finds out that her Mom
doesn't have any pictures of her before
she was six months old. |
| Christmas.
In hope that Ashley will forget about her suspicion over the photos,
her Mom gives her the present she's always wanted. Maria celebrates the seasonal holiday
with Dylan and what she reefers to as
"style" but ends up needing Ling and Ashley's help. |

CHRISTMAS HIATUS

| At the
Mall the girls cross paths with Abby and her friends. She and
Maria get into a fight. They're told to leave the store, as they
do
the buzzer goes off and Maria is accused of stilling. She swears
she didn't do it. So her friends set out to prove she's innocent. |

| On her
15th Birthday Ashley finds out a family secret - She was
adopted. She finds it hard to deal and she's angry and upset with her Mom for not telling her when she was younger. Not
knowing who she is, how she feels or where she belongs, she runs
away. |
| Maria talks Ashley
into staying in town and finds her a place to stay. Ling
realizes Maria knows where Ashley is. Things soon get
complicated for the girls when the police question them about
Ashley's whereabouts. Can the girls talk Ashley into going
home? |
| Maria's 15th birthday.
Dylan throws her a surprise party, as his parents
are out of town for the weekend. At school Ling freaks out when
she only gets "C" on her midterm. Abby crashes the
party and
plans to brake up Dylan and Maria and Rick threatens Ashley. |
| Dylan helps out Zak
- the
new guy in town. At school he introduces himself with surprising
family ties. Ashley applies for the Saturday morning job at "Harris's Electrical Supplies"
And Ling discusses her worries with Maria about a distracted and
quiet Ashley... |

ONE WEEK HIATUS

| As its now getting warmer,
the gang throw a 'get together' party on the beach at
night. All goes to plan until Ashley discovers she's not allowed
to go. At School Debbie Thompson, editor of the school paper
asks Ling if she'd like a permanent job on the team. |

| Ling
receives her first newspaper assignment now
that she's part of the team. Zak tries to woo
Ashley, who is once again distracted as her
problems with Rick continue. Having no luck
getting her to talk to them, Ling and Maria
discuss other ways of helping Ashley. |
| Maria is shocked
when her estranged mother comes to town. After not seeing her
for eight years she demands answers, but what she's told leaves
her more bitter then before... Meanwhile, Dylan may have gotten
though to Ashley, as she considers talking to him. |

| With her agenda
now known, Maria's anger towards her mother grows, she talks over
her problems with Ling. Can she convince her friend to do the
right thing? Ashley confides in Dylan
and tells him of the situation at home. And Rick goes one step
further. |

| When Ashley cuts
gym, Dylan finds out just how serous her situation with Rick is.
Seeing the two together, Abby puts her plan into action. Mr DeCole Humiliates
Maria in front of the class. And Ling's meets Shane Nash, a Junior
on the school Basketball team. |

Freshman year comes to an end, Maria suspects Dylan and Ashley
are seeing each other. Shane asks Ling to the end of year School
Dance and in an effort to save his relationship with Maria, Dylan
